Job OverviewThe Props Artisan is responsible for creating, modifying, and maintaining props for theatre productions. This role involves working with a variety of materials to build or alter props to match the design specifications. This position requires a creative individual with strong crafting skills and knowledge of theatrical props construction.
Responsibilities- Create, modify, and maintain props for theatre productions and events using a variety of materials.
- Collaborate with the Props Supervisor to ensure all props are completed to the highest standards.
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace and assist during load-ins and load-outs.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines to prevent accidents.
- Assist with shop maintenance and inventory updates to ensure a clean and organized workspace.
- Other duties as assigned by Production Management
- Proficiency in a variety of crafting and prop-making techniques.
- Creativity and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with different materials and tools.
- Experience with theatrical props construction and modification.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Reliable transportation and/or a valid driver’s license is preferred
- Must be willing to work with volunteers and students
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs
