Barrington Stage Company, an award-winning professional theatre company located in the heart of the Berkshires, is seeking a Head Electrician/Board Op for our St. Germain Stage to join our team in Pittsfield, MA.

Job Overview

Ensures high-quality lighting for every performance in the St. Germain venue. This role acts as the primary technician and operator for this space, often working independently to maintain the show's integrity.

Responsibilities
  • Program and operate lighting and projection computers/consoles for all St. Germain productions and events; replicate the design consistently as called by Stage Management.
  • Repair and maintain venue-specific practicals and effects; perform daily pre-show technical sweeps.
  • Hang, focus, and strike instruments according to the plot and designer instructions.
  • Maintain up-to-date paperwork for each production including, plot, channel hook-up and show run sheets
  • Aid in the construction and wiring of specialty items such as light boxes, star drops, and LED Tape projects
  • Keep the electrics shop as well as the lighting booth for the venue clean and organized throughout the season
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the lighting inventory throughout the season
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in theatrical lighting operation and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with ETC lighting consoles and basic projection software.
  • Ability to work independently and manage venue-specific logistics.
  • Must be comfortable working with students and volunteers.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work comfortably at heights.
