Hybrid 4 days onsite in Pittsburgh, PA
Our client is a global investments company focused on enabling institutions, corporations, and individuals to manage and service financial assets across the investment lifecycle. Its affiliate provides technology, clearing, custody, trading, and data solutions to advisors, broker-dealers, and asset managers worldwide, supporting millions of investor accounts. The organization serves as a single point of contact for clients to create, trade, hold, manage, service, distribute, or restructure investments.

Rate: $65.00 to $75.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement middle-layer services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
- Develop and consume RESTful web services with a strong focus on performance and reliability.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries against Oracle databases.
- Integrate event-driven workflows using Kafka for messaging and streaming.
- Containerize and run services using Docker.
- Apply Spring Security to secure services and endpoints.
- Collaborate within Agile two-week sprints to refine requirements and deliver increments.
- Troubleshoot, profile, and resolve issues across service and data layers.
- Strong Oracle database experience, including writing and optimizing SQL queries.
- Proficiency with Java (targeting Java 21) for backend service development.
- Hands-on experience with Spring and Spring Boot (Spring 3.x).
- Expertise in building and consuming RESTful web services.
- Experience implementing security with Spring Security.
- Experience with Kafka for messaging and event streaming.
- Experience containerizing applications with Docker.
- Experience working in Agile teams with two-week sprint cycles.
- Background in middle-layer or service-layer development.
