We build cloud‑powered, SaaS solutions that accelerate the deployment of renewable energy projects by streamlining the interconnection bottleneck. As a Senior Computational Software Engineer on our Power & Energy Transition team, you will help build scalable, high‑performance applications that enable electric grid operators, utilities, and renewable energy developers to connect large‑scale solar, wind, and battery projects to the grid.
Responsibilities- Translate traditionally manual grid study processes into well‑structured, performant code.
- Maintain and enhance our SaaS application to meet the needs of current and future customers.
- Deploy and test large‑scale parallel‑compute code on cloud‑based infrastructure.
- Work with other team members to define product requirements, develop tests, and validate results.
- Your work will help project developers deploy more zero‑carbon generation projects on the grid.
- Results‑oriented individual looking to learn, grow, and make a positive impact.
- Proficiency in Python; knowledge of C++ is a plus.
- Experience developing and shipping high‑performance numerical backends using computational parallelization frameworks.
- Strong skills in algorithms and data structures to solve complex numerical optimization problems efficiently.
- Experience deploying, maintaining, and debugging software in a cloud environment such as AWS, with tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS SQS/SNS, etc. (plus).
- Knowledge of power systems, power systems simulation, numerical methods for simulation or optimization, or electronic design automation tools and methods (plus).
- BS/MS/PhD in EE/CE/ECE/CS preferred, with 4+ years of experience developing and deploying applications.
- Ability to sit for long periods and work on a computer with repetitive motions.
- Able to lift up to 35 pounds safely using proper techniques.
- Effective communication skills.
- Regular and predictable attendance required.
- Ability to work in an office environment as required.
- Occasional travel up to 10% or as required for company needs.
