Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift 3x12 Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. This role includes supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while adhering to the values of providing superior quality care and ensuring patient and employee safety.
Responsibilities- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
- Identify patient teaching needs in collaboration with the patient, family, and Interdisciplinary team.
- Provide timely patient information and documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses.
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and prioritize patient education based on identified health care needs.
- Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and start patient teaching accordingly.
- Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
- Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, utilizing problem-solving techniques.
- Ensure a safe work environment and patient handling per hospital policies.
- Contribute positively to the team culture by fostering a supportive environment.
- Maintain effective communication with management regarding service needs.
- Assume charge responsibilities as needed and pursue professional growth through continuing education.
- Current BLS Certification prior to first shift.
- ACLS Certification required before the first shift (specific to certain facilities).
- A minimum of two (2) years bedside clinical experience is required.
- ICU experience is preferred but not required.
This position requires a day shift, working 3x12 hour shifts per week.
