DIRECTOR OF M&A AND STRATEGY

The Director of M&A and Strategy will support the execution of inorganic growth initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, reporting to the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. This high-visibility role is responsible for all phases of transaction execution, including due diligence, financial modeling, valuation, deal structuring, and post-acquisition integration. The position plays a key role in shaping and advancing the organization’s long-term growth and corporate strategy.
The ideal candidate brings strong analytical and financial modeling expertise, proven transaction experience, and the ability to partner effectively across functions. This individual will lead and coordinate due diligence efforts, leverage both internal and external resources, and help design and oversee post-transaction integration plans to ensure value creation.
This role works closely with senior leadership, operating executives, technology leaders, and functional teams while adhering to a disciplined and efficient M&A process. The position is based in Pittsburgh, PA, with global travel required. Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate.
OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:
- Partner with and support the Senior Vice President of Corporate Development in leading mergers, acquisitions, and divestiture initiatives
- Develop comprehensive financial models and valuation analyses for potential acquisition targets, incorporating market dynamics and divisional input
- Collaborate with business and corporate functional leaders to evaluate deal economics, risks, and strategic alignment
- Manage and coordinate financial and functional due diligence efforts, including integration planning
- Work closely with operating leadership, technology leaders, and corporate development colleagues to identify, evaluate, and prioritize acquisition opportunities
- Support corporate strategy initiatives related to inorganic growth and long-term value creation
- Develop, document, and institutionalize best practices within the M&A and strategy function
- Support early-stage deal activities, including target screening, research, documentation, and management of the acquisition CRM
- Assist in structuring transactions and negotiating deal terms in partnership with internal stakeholders and external advisors
- Lead and support post-acquisition integration efforts to capture synergies, track performance, and achieve strategic objectives
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Approximately 10 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, accounting, financial planning, strategic planning, or corporate development
- Advanced financial modeling and valuation expertise with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated experience executing acquisitions, including due diligence and post-transaction integration
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior executives
- Flexibility to meet project timelines and global travel requirements
- Highly motivated, self-directed professional comfortable working independently in a high-impact role
- Experience with technology-driven or industrial acquisitions preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field
- MBA and/or CPA/CFA strongly preferred
