About the Role:

As a part of the Core Enterprise Computing team, the M365 Engineer role will focus on solutions engineering, technical guidance, and administration to support our Microsoft 365 and email platforms. These responsibilities will include overall M365 tenant administration, Purview, Microsoft Defender, Exchange Online/Exchange Server SE, Proofpoint Email Protection, and Proofpoint Secure Email Relay.

* Implement solutions to support our Exchange Online environment, in addition to on-premises mail attribute management with Exchange Server SE.

* Provide support for our secure email gateway solution, Proofpoint Email Protection, collaborating closely with the cyber security and operations teams to maintain daily activities.

* Maintain and optimize our internal SMTP relaying, utilizing Proofpoint Secure Email Relay.

* Administer M365 tenant settings and collaborate with both IT and other business areas for product integrations.

* Support Microsoft Purview solutions such as Data Loss Prevention, Sensitivity Labels, Retention Policies, Records Management, and aid in expanding adoption of additional components.

* Support Microsoft Defender solutions such as Email policies and rules, Cloud Apps, and broaden our use of additional components.

* Support the implementation of other 3rd party data security tools.

* Provide tier three support to aid in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for M365 and email-related issues.

* Utilize Power Shell for settings changes, reporting, and automation.

* Document configurations, procedures, and best practices.

* Monitor Microsoft Message Center and product roadmaps for relevant features and changes.

* Communicate project status to customers and update project tracking tool regularly.

* Directory services:
Active Directory, Entra .

What you can bring to this role:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

* 5+ years of experience managing systems in an enterprise IT environment.

* 1-3 years of experience working with Microsoft 365 technologies, Exchange Online, Exchange Server, and email gateway solutions, preferably in a corporate or enterprise environment.

* Experience with scripting in Power Shell

* Proven ability to work successfully with limited supervision and learn new IT skills and concepts quickly.

* Detail oriented with outstanding analytical and critical thinking skills.

* Knowledge of email authentication technologies SPF/DKIM/DMARC.

* Experience using Microsoft Purview & Defender or equivalent compliance, governance, and security tools.

* Excellent writing and communication skills with ability to maintain open communication with internal employees, contractors, managers, 3rd parties, and customers as needed

* Strong IT troubleshooting skills.

* Experience with using SMTP relaying for app and system generated messages.
