Our client is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Content Manager with deep content editing expertise who has evolved into a more operational and cross-functional leadership role. The Content Manager will serve as the connective tissue between content, marketing, and development teams — ensuring content systems, workflows, and structures are scalable, user-friendly, and aligned with business needs. The ideal candidate brings strong editorial judgment, hands‑on CMS experience, and the confidence to represent content requirements in technical conversations.
You should be comfortable attending meetings with developers, articulating system needs, and helping shape content architecture and publishing workflows. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior content editor or content lead ready to operate at a more strategic level.
- Rate: $55-$60/hr.
- Location:
Philadelphia area highly preferred to work hybrid - onsite 2 days a week
- Lead and oversee content editing standards, governance, and quality control across digital platforms
- Manage and optimize content publishing workflows and processes
- Partner cross‑functionally with marketing, product, and development teams to translate content needs into technical requirements
- Participate in technical discussions related to CMS capabilities, templates, tagging structures, and content models
- Ensure content architecture supports scalability, usability, SEO best practices, and brand consistency
- Identify opportunities to improve content systems, workflows, and operational efficiency
- Support implementation of content‑related system enhancements or migrations
- Act as the subject matter expert for content structure and publishing best practices
- 5+ years of hands‑on content editing experience, preferably in a digital‑first environment
- Experience transitioning into a content management, governance, or operational leadership role
- Strong working knowledge of CMS platforms (e.g., Word Press, Sitecore, Drupal, Adobe Experience Manager, etc.)
- Ability to confidently communicate with developers and technical stakeholders
- Understanding of content modeling, taxonomy, tagging structures, and template management
- Excellent organizational skills with a systems‑oriented mindset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in cross‑functional collaboration within marketing and digital teams
