Join Our Team as a Full-Time Patient Care Technician!

Are you passionate about making a difference in patients' lives? We are looking for a dedicated Patient Care Technician to join our dynamic Pediatric ICU.

Hours:

3 - 12 Hour Shifts per week.  Shifts will rotate between weekday/weekends, days/nights and holidays.

Common

Shifts:

6:30 am - 7pm, 6:30 pm - 7:00 am, 10:30 am - 11:00 pm

The position offers opportunities for growth, with a clear career ladder from Nursing Assistant to Patient Care Technician - Lead. A starting pay rate of $19.40/hour for Nursing Assistants is offered, based on experience and qualifications.

Primary Responsibilities:

Assist with activities of daily living, basic patient care, point-of-care testing, vital signs, telemetry monitoring, specimen collection. The role may also involve advanced skills like phlebotomy, IV removal, and EKGs, depending on department needs.

+ High school diploma or equivalent.

+ Must also have at least one of the below:

+ One year of general healthcare experience

+ 6 months of experience as UPMC Nursing Assistant/CNA with PCT competency achieved within 120 days of hire/transfer/promotion

+ Enrollment in a nursing program with completion of at least 1 clinical rotation required

+ Completion of a bachelor's degree in a health sciences field

+ Nursing Students or those with EMT experience preferred

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

+ CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

+ Clearances with renewal:  Act 31, 33, 34, 73
