This position will involve teaching health classes and developing a physical education program for students with varying emotional and behavior challenges, aged 13 - 21 years. The successful candidate should have proven experience in creating a program which motivates student participation as well as commitment to wellness.

• Design and direct adaptive physical education classes.
• Identify and assess needs of each student.
• Evaluate students' growth through review on a consistent basis.
• Provide instruction that is congruent with goals and objectives listed on IEP.
• Ensure the health, safety and general well being of the students.
• Function as a member of IEP team, addressing needs of students.
• Prepare report cards, educational records, classroom observation records, and other documentation as required.

• Bachelor's level degree in education required.
• Minor in Special Education OR minimum of 5 years experience working with special education students preferred.
• Valid PA Instructional Certificate in Health and Physical Education PK-12 required.
• Experience teaching health and physical education.
• Experience working with children and adolescents with severe and complex behavior challenges in school, community, or residential setting preferred.
• Current police, child abuse and FBI fingerprint clearances required.

• $58,751 - $88,563 - Instructional I
• $61,300 - $92,110 - Instructional II
• $65,394 - $100,586 - Master's degree
• $68,403 - $104,546 - Master's degree plus 15 credits
• $69,938 - $106,442 - Master's degree plus 30 credits

5 days per week, 7.5 hours per day, 194 days per year
