ULS AW Outreach and Engagement Coordinator

The coordinator will plan and manage outreach activities to local area high school teachers to promote the resources held in the August Wilson Archive which is curated by Archives & Special Collections within the University of Pittsburgh Library System. This work will primarily entail informing teachers about the award program, helping them to apply for a paid summer research visit to create personalized lesson plans, and subsequently managing those research visits and payment.

The job also entails promoting to area high school teachers the Becoming August Wilson documentary film produced by the library system to use in classrooms with curricular prompts.

Other work may include coordinating tours and visitations, developing programming that highlights the August Wilson Archive, and participating in the A&SC exhibitions program. This position will require evening/weekend hours based on the nature of events. Position is part-time for one year.

This is a one-year position with the possibility of renewal contingent upon funding.

Hours of work are flexible throughout the week depending on events, which may include occasional weekend hours. Hours worked will not exceed 18.75 hours/week.

The tasks and responsibilities for the August Wilson Outreach and Engagement Coordinator must be performed on-site and in person, although frequent visits to secondary schools will be necessary.
