Duties & Responsibilities
  • Zoo Representation: Represent the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium with professionalism, fostering an open and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Ticketing & Admissions: Accurately collect, scan, and validate tickets and memberships while clearly communicating park rules and guidelines.
  • Financial Accuracy: Operate computers, cash registers, and Point of Sale systems with precision during guest transactions for admissions and attractions.
  • Wayfinding & Information: Act as a park expert by providing info on pricing, animal locations, and attractions, ensuring guests stay safe and informed.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Actively support coworkers and coordinate across zoo departments to ensure seamless daily operations.
  • Conflict Resolution: Address guest concerns with tact, patience, and professional diplomacy.
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Dependability: Proven ability to maintain consistent attendance and stay flexible with scheduling.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in all climates and weather conditions, maintaining stationary positions or moving frequently for long periods.
  • Skill Acquisition: Must be trainable on cash handling procedures and POS systems.
  • Accessibility: Must be able to complete job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.
Availability
  • Minimum Commitment: At least 3 days per week, including one weekend day (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday).
  • Daily Shift: At least 5 hours per scheduled workday.
  • Seasonal Nature: This is a seasonal position with variable hours (15-40 hours per week) based on business needs and your availability.
