Job OverviewThe Journeyman Plumber performs skilled technical work in the installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance of domestic water systems, heating water systems, sanitary sewer systems, storm sewers, gas pipe, steam and condensate pipes, and fire protection systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain safe working conditions at all times
- Regularly check systems to ensure proper operation
- Inspect toilets, sinks, dishwashers, and other appliances for leaks
- Repair and replace plumbing fixtures
- Read blueprints and drawings to understand or plan the layout of plumbing, waste disposal, and water supply systems
- Replace washers and rubber gaskets in faucets and shower heads
- Locate and repair issues with water supply lines
- Install and maintain water supply systems
- Cut, assemble, and install pipes and tubes with attention to existing infrastructure
- Troubleshoot plumbing problems
