$20.50/hr - $24.00/hr

• In accordance with state and federal regulations, assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy. Assist the pharmacist in the performance of other Pharmacy Department duties in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist with and coach pharmacy technicians in the operation of pharmacy systems and cashiers in the operation of the pharmacy cash registers.
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Model and share customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including interpersonal habits and Walgreens service traits.

• Under the supervision of the pharmacist, assist in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state, federal, and company policy. Review and comply with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
• Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Manager, including entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring medications, verifying the medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions. Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow.
• Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to policies on pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
• Adhere to the Walgreen Co. policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during all applicable prescription dispensing activities.
• Register related sales on the assigned cash register and handle cash as required. Assist customers to locate products.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist.
• Process manual claims for third party prescription services in a timely manner and perform other clerical duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.
• Support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking and storing shipments. Maintain knowledge of asset protection techniques and file claims for discrepancies.
• Assist pharmacist in administering clinical services and coordinating clinical services, Walgreens healthcare clinics, and external providers as required.
• Develop and maintain good relationships with the local medical community through outreach and detailing to health groups, retirement homes, and nursing facilities.
• Maintain a stocked, clean, and orderly Pharmacy Department.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

• Earns and maintains PTCB certification through the designated program and/or state required certification/registration. If not certified, earns PTCB certification as a condition of promotion to senior technician.
• Attends training and completes continuing education credits; maintains knowledge in healthcare and pharmacy and keeps up with latest developments.

• Basic - Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Preferred - Six months of experience in a retail environment; prior Walgreens experience; good math, computer, and inventory control skills; PTCB certification is preferred.
