Starting Salary: $70,306 - $75,000 /year based on experience plus $2,000 Annual Education Stipend.

As a Special Education Teacher, you will lead the instructional process for students in Grades K-12 with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), designing dynamic and personalized learning experiences within the learning center and/or classroom. Your role includes delivering targeted instruction, utilizing curriculum resources, integrating educational software, and creating comprehensive lesson plans aligned to state and school standards.

Responsibilities
  • Create an inclusive, collaborative environment involving students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
  • Establish a classroom climate based on mutual respect, fairness, and clear expectations; emphasize social development and positive group interactions with PBIS.
  • Implement and reinforce school-wide and classroom PBIS strategies, behavior expectations, rewards, and consequences.
  • Track and document student progress, maintain student files, and generate reports detailing student achievements and activities.
  • Deliver differentiated instruction individually or in a co-teaching environment to meet IEP goals.
  • Adapt curricular content and instructional approaches for diverse learning styles; guide staff on differentiation methods.
  • Use varied instructional methods, resources, and educational software to support diverse student needs.
  • Manage student caseloads, including developing and implementing IEPs, goals, and interventions.
  • Prepare daily lesson plans and organize instructional materials aligned with standards and student objectives.
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and welcoming classroom environment and manage resources effectively.
  • Stay informed on current best practices in special education and related areas.
  • Respond to feedback from evaluations and observations; pursue ongoing professional growth.
  • Support the school community by performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in education, special education, or a related field.
  • Valid state teaching credential (or in process to obtain).
  • Special education credential (mild-moderate) or in process to obtain.
  • Ability to obtain certification in company-approved crisis management training.
  • Experience with curriculum development, differentiation and instruction, preferably in an alternative, special education or behavioral health setting.
  • Experience or knowledge of special education services and compliance for students with learning disabilities, EBD, autism, and related disabilities.
  • Experience with students who have IEPs.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective education plans for diverse learners.
  • Strong communication, organization, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to respond calmly in emergencies and make independent decisions.
  • Knowledge of instructional technology, Microsoft Office, and basic office equipment.
