Educational Technology and Platform Specialist - Temporary

Summary

The Educational Technology and Platform Specialist is a temporary 12-18 month individual contributor role providing advanced technical expertise and system‑level oversight for the IEEE Learning Network (ILN, IEEE's learning management system). Serves as a subject matter expert for complex troubleshooting, platform optimization, integrations, and process improvement. This role does not involve instructional design or content creation.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead advanced troubleshooting and serve as escalation point for complex issues

* Oversee platform integrations, enhancements, customizations, and maintenance

* Coordinate requirements gathering, stakeholder communication, testing, and post‑release validation

* Analyze usage data to identify trends, insights, and improvement opportunities

* Lead UAT efforts, including script creation and validation coordination

* Design and document system configurations to support business needs

* Lead onboarding and implementation for new ILN partners

* Maintain catalog records aligned with MARC standards

* Research industry trends and recommend improvements to support and operations

* Provide backup support to the Administrator

* Contribute to additional Educational Activities projects as assigned

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience

* Required experience with LMS administration, educational technology, or technical support

* Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues

* Strong understanding of platform workflows, integrations, and system interactions

Strong analytical, documentation, and data validation abilities

* Excellent oral and written communication skills, strict attention to detail and excellent problem solver

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace

* Experience with system integrations, SCORM standards, MARC records/KBART files, HTML/CSS, and/or JIRA is a plus

* Experience translating business needs into technical requirements

* Skilled in UAT script writing and execution a plus
