A Material Handler regularly performs routine to moderately advanced production activities to maintain the flow of work under limited supervision. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Duties /Responsibilities:- Transport, load, unload, and store steel coils in appropriate locations using various equipment (Forklift, Crane, etc.).
- Inspect and assist in packaging coils as needed and manage scrap.
- Completes required paperwork/system input for each product.
- Maintain a clean work environment by keeping work area free of trash and scrap.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Basic reading and writing comprehension in English (to read work order instructions, safety, and policy manuals); ability to read a tape measure.
- Proficient in basic math and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow and give instructions.
- Basic problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Ability to work closely with others in a team environment
- High School or equivalent. Crane and Forklift certification required.
Education:
- High school or equivalent
- Forklift and Crane Operator certification required.
- Prior metals experience preferred.
Shift: Monday - Friday - 2nd shift (2:15 pm – 10:30 pm)
