Job DescriptionAs an Electronic/Onsite Technician at The Tool & Gage House, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our clients’ electronic measurement equipment. Your responsibilities will include calibrating a variety of electronic instrumentation, both in our state-of-the-art laboratory and at client sites.
Responsibilities- Calibrate a range of electronic devices including but not limited to: multimeters, clamp meters, hi pot testers, voltage & current calibrators, thermometers, and other basic electronic equipment.
- Perform onsite calibration jobs with travel required approximately 10-25% of the time. Some months, onsite work may increase to up to 50% depending on client needs and project demands.
- Most onsite assignments are same-day, out & back with no overnight stay required.
- Approximately 10% of onsite jobs may require multiple-day overnight stays. All overnight assignments occur during the standard work week; no weekend travel is necessary.
- Maintain detailed calibration and service records in accordance with company and industry standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing professional service and technical support.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company operational procedures at all times.
- Assist with equipment logistics, setup, and breakdown for onsite calibrations as needed.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the calibration department.
- Perform precise calibration of electronic test equipment as specified above.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Travel to client sites locally and regionally to perform onsite calibration services, representing The Tool & Gage House with professionalism.
- Document work performed accurately, ensuring compliance with both client and company quality standards.
- Work both independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines and service commitments.
- Engage in ongoing training to stay current with technological advances and industry best practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate degree or technical certification in electronics or related field preferred. - Minimum 2 years of experience calibrating basic electronic equipment as listed above.
- Strong working knowledge of electronic test equipment and calibration procedures.
- Comfortable with travel and adapting to a flexible onsite schedule as business needs dictate.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work safely with electrical equipment and adhere to safety protocols.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform work in a variety of environments.
- Previous experience in a calibration lab or metrology environment.
- Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 calibration standards.
- Proficiency with calibration management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Customer service experience and a positive, proactive approach to problem-solving.
