Harrison UMC is an active, healthy and inviting congregation located in the rapidly growing area of Pineville/Ballantyne, NC (South Charlotte). We are looking for a full-time Music Director with a passion for the many ways music enhances the worship of God and develops spiritual growth amidst a congregation. Basic responsibilities include, but are not limited to, serving as Music Director for both traditional and contemporary services;
planning and implementing seasonal musical events; working with Family Ministries to offer age-appropriate music opportunities for youth and children.
Experience working within a church or Christian environment, a 4-year degree and advanced training in musical leadership are expected. Applicant must be willing to submit information for a criminal background check and comply with our safety procedures for youth and children. A personal commitment to Christ is expected and a commitment to the Wesleyan/Methodist tradition is preferred. Ability to share your personal faith story and communicate effectively with those of all ages is critical.
Office Hours are expected and being a team player is essential.
