Central Louisiana State Hospital located in Pineville, Louisiana is seeking applicants for a vacant position in our NURSING DEPARTMENT as a Registered Nurse 1-3 (Night Shift). The Registered Nurse 1-3 (Night Shift) provides basic professional nursing care to patients and/or clients.

The Registered Nurse 1-3 (Night Shift) plays a vital role for the Louisiana Department of Health in the Behavioral Health community by utilizing CLSH’s values and mission to deliver quality and effective care to our patients. Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact state to practice as a registered nurse.

• Provides professional nursing care for acute, intermediate, and long‑term psychiatric male and female adults (Adaptive Behavior Services).
• Directs all nursing care activities within an assigned area, including counseling, coordination of support services, and working as a treatment team member, patient advocate, and role model, in addition to providing direct nursing care of patients with highly unstable psychological conditions and variable physiological conditions to maintain a healthy and safe environment.
• Acts as a treatment team facilitator who formulates, conducts, evaluates, and reviews nursing plans of care for all patients in assigned areas and ensures that treatment and therapies specified in the plan are implemented.
• Assesses, administers, and formulates nursing care plans; administers psychiatric, medical, and preventive health care for patients daily through daily consultation with instruction to direct care staff.
• Receives supervision from a Registered Nurse of a higher classification, a physician, or administrative personnel; exercises general supervision over Licensed Practical Nursing personnel as well as Psychiatric Aides and Supervisors; provides direct and indirect input into administrative and clinical policies and procedures.

Registered Nurse 1 has a special entry rate of $29.84/hour

Registered Nurse 2 has a special entry rate of $31.93/hour

Registered Nurse 3 has a special entry rate of $34.17/hour

In addition to the special entry rate of pay/hour, this position receives premium pay of $10.00/hour
, longevity pay starting at an additional $2.00/hour up to $5.00/hour, and shift differential depending on shift.
