OverviewThe Security Systems Technician is an integralერთი part of supporting the security systems and solutions that are core to the success of physical security for First Health of the Carolinas. Responsibilities include, depending on existing corporate need:
- Installation and maintenance of IP video surveillance equipment, including IP CCT cameras, IP video surveillance‑specific network storage, door access control systems △ and motion detection systems.
- Accountable for performing day‑to‑day system administrative and health‑check functions in an efficient manner.
- Compliance with best practices and established physical security configuration standards for access control.
- Provide management with understandable and actionable information regarding physical security systems and solutions.
- Promote a positive and professional image of the Information Systems Department and of First Health of the Carolinas.
The Security Systems Technician will work with technical staff, IS Management and key personnel from other departments to identify, implement and support cost‑effective physical security solutions for all aspects of the organization.
Responsibilities- Add, delete, move, and set up peripheral equipment specific to physical security systems.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, install, and repair the IP video CCT cameras and access control systems, including all peripheral and security closet equipment and cabling.
- Effectively communicate inside and outside of the Network Services group to other FHC resources for departmental project completion.
- Work effectively with the IS Management team and IS Project Managers to provide sound physical security solutions for the organization.
- Maintain a current inventory of physical security hardware and software solutions.
- Document, map and maintain IP video CCT camera and access control installation-founder infrastructure documents for all projects.
Education and Formal Training:
Two‑year degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Network Communications, or an equivalent combination of education and advanced industry experience is required. CompTIA Network+ certification is a plus. Network training in IP video surveillance security is also preferred.
Work Experience:
Prior work experience in the installation and support of physical security systems—including IP video surveillance systems, access control systems and motion detection systems—is required. Other related Information Systems experience is also preferred.
