Do you have a landscape degree or a deep, hands-on understanding of landscape maintenance and enhancement, and are you ready to take the next step into a leadership role? We're looking for a proactive, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Landscape Assistant Manager!
This is a fantastic opportunity to leverage your technical knowledge and develop your people management skills by directly assisting the Landscape Manager in the day-to-day operations of our high-quality landscape program.
Location and Schedule:This position is located in High Point, NC.
Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm, with rotating weekend coverage.
Core Responsibilities & What You'll Be DoingAs the Landscape Assistant Manager, you will be crucial in ensuring our landscape quality remains consistently high and our operations run smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:
Team Leadership:
Actively managing, assigning, and overseeing tasks for the landscape team to ensure efficiency and quality. This includes performing supervisory duties and occasionally filling in for workers as needed.
Quality Assurance:
Utilizing your in-depth knowledge to manage people and processes to consistently achieve a very high level of landscape quality.
Operational Support:
Assisting the Landscape Manager with daily work scheduling and creating event coverage schedules.
Customer & Employee Relations:
Maintaining a customer-centric approach and excellent professional communication with internal teams, external clients, and all laborers. Assisting in resolving employee and customer issues.
Safety & Compliance:
Actively promoting and ensuring a safe work environment, reporting incidents/accidents, and monitoring environmental conditions to perform duties accordingly.
Technical Operations:
Using your knowledge of irrigation controllers and water sources, executing and completing work requests via a mobile device work order system, and participating in snow removal activities where applicable.
Event Support:
Assisting with special event setups or breakdowns when necessary.
Your Skills & Experience
Education & Experience
Associate's Degree (or higher) in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Turf Management, or a related field OR equivalent deep, proven understanding of landscape maintenance and enhancement.
A minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience is required (or demonstrated leadership ability in a comparable role).
Certifications & Licenses
AValid Driver's License is required.
Pro-active approach to managing all aspects of the job.
Ability to manage people and manage the details of daily operations effectively.
A strong dedication to customer service (both internal and external).
