What will you do as a PMC Patient Service Representative (PSR)

As a PSR you will serve as an essential part of the patient experience, acting as a liaison between patients and medical staff by greeting, instructing, and directing patients and visitors. You will manage patient demographics, insurance information, collections at check‑in/out, schedule appointments, and maintain efficient check‑in/out processes.

A day in the life of a PMC Patient Service Representative (PSR) may include:
  • Greeting patients and visitors promptly, courteously, and helpfully; answering requests for information.
  • Checking in patients, verifying and updating necessary information; acknowledging patients; and checking patients out. Ensuring patients are kept apprised of the physician’s timetable to reduce waiting time.
  • Advising patients regarding financial obligations including co‑payments, deductible amounts, insurance eligibility, etc.
  • Maintaining the lobby in a neat and orderly manner including keeping magazines current.
  • Coordinating physicians’ schedules; having a thorough knowledge of physician specialties and medical practices.
  • Answering telephones, returning calls in a timely manner, taking messages, handling requests, and providing accurate information as necessary.
  • Handling mail, paperwork via fax, and medical records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Being a key piece in the PMC mission by providing the highest quality of care to our patients and the communities we serve.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One to two‑year experience in a medical office setting.

Shift: Day Shift (Monday through Friday) no weekends or holidays

Pay Type:

Hourly (Non‑Exempt)
