Overview
Nurse Informatics Specialist
Participates in the review and prioritization of change requests, performs system analysis of departmental needs, assures operational alignment, preparation of project proposals, system selection and approves changes to Clinical Informatics System design, cost analysis, contract review, implementation, and evaluation. Acts as liaison between work teams and departments. Optimizes clinical processes and can translate complex clinical data and insight into actionable intelligence.
Assists with reviews, monitors, and audits clinical information systems, and conducts workflow and needs analysis to enhance usage and end user satisfaction. Supports the effective use of electronic health record data, aids in establishing metrics and key performance indicators and report development (descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive reports) contributing to evidence-based practice.
Education/Formal Training/Licensure/Certification:
Current licensure as RN in North Carolina. BSN required;
Master’s Degree in Nursing MSN required, Informatics or related area of study.
Certification in organizational EMR applications/module and/or equivalent informatics certification preferred or obtained within 1 year of hire.
Leadership or professional development training preferred.
Work Experience:
Minimum 3 years of healthcare clinical experience and clinical informatics or application Support. Information technology competence. Project management experience and/or experience with
