The Inpatient Transporter position involves the manual in-house transport of patients within FHMRH hospital. The role requires working in a fast-paced environment and performing physical tasks such as bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and constant movement. Candidates must navigate wheelchairs, stretchers, beds, and bariatric equipment safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Transport patients safely to and from various destinations including rooms, testing sites, ER, ICU, and discharge areas.
- Transport 3 to 4 patients per hour, totaling approximately 24-32 transports per shift.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of transport areas and equipment.
- Demonstrate a selfless attitude and commitment to patient care, aligned with First Health's Core
Purpose:
To Care for People. - Adhere to a 40-hour work week, including every other weekend and holidays, and respond during emergency weather events.
- Follow HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous medical experience preferred.
- CPR/BLS certification preferred.
- Physically capable of performing tasks such as bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling, including handling patient transport equipment.
