Overview
Sandhills Community College is looking to expand their pool of part-time instructors focusing on workforce development. Instruction will be focused on workforce skills training. The instructor is responsible for providing instruction for a variety of employment skills including resume writing, interviewing skills, career alignment classes, career exploration, and skill building.
Responsibilities- The instructor will develop curriculum, select textbooks and materials, complete student evaluations and grading, and maintain program standards. Other courses may include basic computer skills, financial planning and professional or job skills.
- Provide instruction to adult learners either online or a face to face classroom setting.
- The successful candidate will be proficient in oral and written communication, have working knowledge of MS Office products, technology in the classroom, and teaching experience is preferred.
- This job requires flexible hours: days and night availability when needed.
- Potential locations include Pinehurst campus, Hoke campus, Robbins campus and community locations.
- Associate’s degree, Bachelors preferred.
- Standing or sitting for extended periods of time
- Walking up to one mile
- Some moderate lifting and carrying (up to 25 pounds)
- Operating assigned equipment
- Working at computer for long periods of time
- Maintains effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for: making observations; reading and writing; operating assigned equipment; communicating with others; handling varied tasks simultaneously
- Maintains mental capacity which permits: making sound decisions and using good judgment; demonstrating intellectual capabilities; ability to think critically and solve problems
- Effectively handles a work environment and conditions which involve: working closely with others; periodically working irregular hours
Other duties may be assigned as deemed appropriate and/or necessary by [President | Provost | EVP | Dean | Department Chair/Supervisor].
Completes additional duties as assigned by the Workforce Skills and Training Coordinator.
