PositionDescription:
The QC Receiving Inspector is responsible for inspecting incoming materials, components, and parts to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This role supports production by identifying nonconforming materials, maintaining accurate inspection records, and ensuring only approved materials enter the manufacturing process. The position requires strong attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to follow established inspection procedures in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
PositionResponsibilities / Duties:
- Inspect incoming raw materials, components, and purchased parts in the receiving area for conformance to drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Verify dimensions, quantities, and visual characteristics using measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and gauges.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, purchase orders, and inspection criteria.
- Document inspection results accurately and complete rejection or nonconformance reports for materials that do not meet specifications.
- Clearly tag, segregate, and communicate nonconforming material to Quality, Purchasing, and Operations teams.
- Maintain organized inspection records and documentation in accordance with ISO 9001 and company quality procedures.
- Support audits and quality reviews as needed.
- Follow all safety, quality, and company policies while working in the receiving and inspection areas.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding inspection findings and material status.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical or vocational coursework related to quality, manufacturing, or inspection is a plus.
- Prior experience in quality control, receiving inspection, or manufacturing inspection preferred.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment is strongly desired.
Competencies:
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency using basic measuring tools (calipers, rulers, tape measures, gauges).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to complete inspection and rejection reports clearly and accurately.
- Familiarity with quality systems, procedures, and documentation.
- Ability to work independently while meeting daily deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and a team‑oriented mindset.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
- Lifting:
Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted. - Environment:
Work in a facility with loud noise, extreme temperatures, and environmental stressors. - Physical
