Job Summary:
The Retail Pharmacist
- Discharge Medication Educator works with patients and families equipping them with the knowledge necessary to provide care once they leave the hospital. This position will act as an advocate for the patient /family and understands the use of medications prescribed. They identify barriers or concerns that interfere with the obtaining and administering of prescribed medication; consults with departments, staff, and managers to determine goals for educating patients/families.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate from an accredited pharmacy college recognized by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE).
- Licensed with the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy.
- Doctoral Degree in Pharmacy (Pharm
D) preferred. - 1 year retail pharmacy experience preferred.
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software and other technology used for dispensing and managing medication records helpful.
- Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
- Excellent communication skills to satisfy both internal and external customers.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Must be able to collaborate with other co-workers as well as other departments.
- Excellent problem solving, decision making and logical thinking skills.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceuticals, including drug interactions, dosage requirements, and side effects
