Job Summary

We are seeking a Part‑Time High School Equivalency (HSE) Instructor to support frontline team members through instructional delivery and test preparation at a Tyson facility. This role focuses on empowering adult learners by providing high‑quality instruction, academic support, and engagement through the Upward Academy program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach High School Equivalency (HSE) curriculum and test preparation to frontline team members.
  • Create, develop, and update instructional materials aligned with course objectives.
  • Attend Upward Academy partner meetings, faculty meetings, and training sessions to stay current on best practices and program updates.
  • Participate in recruitment events and program culminating activities to support learner engagement and community outreach.
  • Foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for adult learners.
Required Qualifications
  • Knowledge of effective teaching strategies and instructional methods in:
    • Reading
    • Math
    • Science
    • Social Studies
  • Native‑like fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools for lesson planning, documentation, and communication.
Preferred Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Teaching, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of teaching experience in High School Equivalency or adult education.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong classroom management, organization, and lesson planning skills.
  • Ability to provide clear, concise instructions and explanations.
  • Proficiency in a second language is a plus.
  • Demonstrated cross‑cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse learner populations.
  • Strong technology skills with experience integrating technology into instruction.
