Position: Travel Nurse RN - Preoperative - $2,806 per week

Amergis Healthcare Staffing, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN Preoperative for a travel nursing job in Pikeville, Kentucky.

Location - Pikeville, KY

Notes - 2 years experience required, 5 years preferred.

Travel Experience Required.

BLS, ACLS, NIHSS EKG required.

Responsibilities:
Assesses/reassesses young adult, adult, and elderly patients and applies the nursing process to:

Demonstrates basic competency in specialized procedures/equipment

• Pre and Post-Operative Care, i.e., general, bariatric, orthopedic, trauma, neurosurgical, genitourinary, etc.

• Pain Management

• Chest Tube Care/Insertion

• PEG, G-tube, J-tube care

• Traction

• Percutaneous, Sump, Jackson Pratt, or Hemovac drainage care

• Medication Administration

• NIH Stroke Scale

• KODA

• Access Central Lines

• Specialized IV Drips and Titration

• IV Therapy

• IVADD

• Waive Testing

• Transfusion Therapy

• Information Management

The Preoperative Registered Nurse works as a professional practitioner employed by Amergis Healthcare Staffing and assumes the responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care in the preoperative setting. The Preoperative Registered Nurse demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner with supervision.

The Preoperative Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care and consistently performs according to nursing standards. The Preoperative Registered Nurse is accountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management ofthe preoperative patient.

Minimum Requirements:

  • One year of preoperative experience preferred
  • Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which thenurse practices
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
