Addiction Counselor​/Trainee

Job Details

• Counsel consumers, individually and in group sessions at least 4 times a week, to support them in their journey of overcoming addiction, adjusting to life, and making positive changes.
• Provide individual sessions weekly.
• Complete and maintain accurate records about the patients' histories and progress, services provided, and other essential information.
• Collaborate with other professionals to evaluate consumer needs and plan treatments.
• Conduct Intake Assessments/ASAM to determine the level of care.
• Develop treatment plans for consumers.
• Determine the consumer's strengths, weaknesses, and needs to assist them in developing a treatment plan within 7 days of admission.
• Monitor and document the assigned consumer's progress toward the treatment plan.
• Provide alcohol and drug education in counseling sessions and groups.
• Keep consumer records up-to-date utilizing the EHR system.
• Ensure assigned consumers receive random urinalysis according to State and Federal guidelines.
• Maintain consumer confidentiality as regulated by Federal and State guidelines.
• Oversee all counselor trainee work performances.
• Recruit 5 clients a month.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong analytical skills.
• Must have a CAC-AD or ADT License (DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DON'T HAVE A LICENSE).
• Exceptional problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
• Working knowledge of computers, including EHR.
• Knowledge of the established diagnostic criteria for substance use disorders.
