Job Title:
Senior Accountant (Contract) - potentially contract to hire / Quick Books / Construction or Real Estate experience is a plus
Salary: $35 - $45 per hour
About usWe are currently seeking an experienced Consulting Senior Accountant (Contract) for our rapidly growing construction company. This is a dynamic and exciting opportunity for a seasoned accountant to showcase their expertise in financial management, reporting and analysis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing financial insights and accounting support to our team. This is a contract position that offers a challenging and rewarding work environment, with the potential for extension based on performance and business needs.
Role is temporary for 3 months with potential to extend or convert permanently.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the general ledger and ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial audits and prepare detailed reports.
- Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and manage cash flow.
- Utilize Quick Books for financial management and reporting.
- Assist with budget preparation and financial planning processes.
- Ensure compliance with all internal policies and relevant regulations.
- Assist with preparation of tax returns and corporate reporting requirements.
- Work closely with the finance team to improve financial procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; a Master's degree or CPA certification would be an added advantage.
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior accounting or financial management role; prior experience in the construction industry is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Quick Books and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles, including AP, AR, general ledger management, and bank reconciliations.
- Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
- Strong time‑management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results‑orientation.
