Our client is an international technology-driven organisation operating in a highly regulated industrial environment. The organisation is known for its strong operational standards and focus on continuous improvement. Sustainability and responsible business practices are important pillars within the organisation, which operates across multiple locations and works with global manufacturing partners. For their site in Papendrecht, we are looking for a Safety Advisor with the specialism in environmental compliance to strengthen the HSE team.

The site operates across three distinct business lines, each with its own risks and challenges. As a Compliance Specialist, you advise colleagues across the organization. You review and analyse applicable laws and regulations and ensure that compliance requirements are met both now and in the future. Your focus areas include water, air, soil, energy consumption and waste. You are able to strike the right balance between regulatory compliance and practical solutions, and your clear communication style supports the organization in achieving and maintaining compliance while meeting defined sustainability and performance goals.

You will be part of the HSE Team and report to the HSE Director.

• Contribute to the development and formulation of the company’s HSE policy in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
• Implement and embed approved policies across the organization.
• Monitor relevant (inter) national legislation and regulations and advise the organization on implications and required actions.
• Translate legal and regulatory requirements into internal procedures and guidelines and ensure effective implementation.

• Coordinate and oversee emission measurements and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Advise on environmental compliance and sustainability-related topics.
• Coordinate and execute actions in line with the HSE annual plan.
• Organize, conduct, document and follow up on audits related to operational conditions.
• Ensure accurate registration and maintenance of relevant data in designated information systems.
• Lead incident investigations and ensure proper analysis, follow-up and closure of corrective actions.
• Act as a key point of contact and subject‑matter expert for internal stakeholders and external parties.

• Provide periodic reports to management on progress, preventive measures, incidents, project outcomes, deviations and root causes.
• Prepare and submit required statutory and regulatory reports to external authorities and stakeholders.

• HBO / Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Chemical Engineering and/or Environmental Science.
• Minimal 3 years of Environmental, Safety and Compliance experience in an industrial environment or as Industrial Consultant.
• Strong knowledge of applicable Dutch legislation and regulations in the field of Environment, Health & Safety, business processes, related (employee) risks, and mitigation measures.
• Excellent communication skills, able to engage and align all stakeholders. You are a trusted discussion partner for both management, employees and external parties.
• You are an analytical and structured professional, intrinsically motivated to elevate the HSE culture to the next level.
• Strong command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken.

• Salary with a maximum of € 6.790,00 gross per month, depending on your knowledge and experience.
• 8% holiday allowance.
