Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day work of payroll to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the payroll service.
  • Maintain data integrity processes through the time and attendance (T&A) and payroll systems.
  • Support the payroll manager in the development of risk management and business continuity strategies to ensure adherence to legislative and company policies.
  • Support the proper maintenance and availability of the payroll and time and attendance systems.
  • Support the compliance with payment rules, HR policies, statutory requirements, and the House Agreement.
  • Support payroll staff to ensure that they carry out their responsibilities effectively.
  • Address employee payroll queries in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Liaise with HR, Finance, and line management to resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records for audit, reporting, and governance purposes.
Requirements
  • Diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field (NQF6).
  • Payroll qualifications will be advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ payroll experience.
  • Working knowledge of South African payroll statutory requirements (PAYE, UIF, SDL).
  • Experience working with payroll systems such as Sage, VIP, SAP, or similar.
  • Knowledge of time and attendance systems will be a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity and strict adherence to the confidentiality of payroll records
