Naturalist (Seasonal)

Location:

Bruce, SD

Minimum Salary: $15.53 hourly

Develop, promote, and present programs at Oakwood Lakes State Park and Lake Poinsett Recreation Area.

• Assisting or leading annual recurring events
• Researching and presenting recreational, natural, cultural, and environmental programs
• Scheduling programs at 2 parks between May 15th - Labor Day weekend
• Posting events/programs on park Facebook pages and Go Outdoors calendar
• Creating flyers and other means to promote programs and events
• Tracking participation at each program
• Other duties as assigned.

Ability to work independently or with others, manage time well, and work in a variety of weather conditions outdoors. Uniform shirts are provided and employees must comply with uniform dress code. Valid driver's license required.

Knowledge or experience in teaching and public speaking with adults and children in an outdoor setting. Ability to research new topics to present as a program. Computer skills required. Ability to create flyers and promote events. Skills to work with the public in a professional manner.
