St. George Tanaq Corporation, through its division Tanaq Technical Services (TTS), is an 8(a) Alaskan Native Small Business that delivers Enterprise Integrated Technology Solutions and Support Services to the Federal Government. TTS employs proactive strategies, efficient processes, and emerging technologies to provide seamless, integrated services for clients such as the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Security Engineer to embed cybersecurity and compliance into HUD’s Dev Ops and AI/ML modernization initiatives. The position is fully remote and supports a federal government contract that requires a federal background check and NACI clearance. Candidates must reside in the United States.

Responsibilities
  • Integrate security into the software development lifecycle, including encryption, role-based access control, and authentication mechanisms.
  • Implement federal security frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST, OMB M-Memos) across all Dev Ops and AI/ML initiatives.
  • Support the development and security of CI/CD pipelines and automated workflows.
  • Conduct risk assessments and manage POA&Ms with HUD IT Security Office.
  • Collaborate with Devikhathi engineers to ensure secure cloud infrastructure, containerization, and microservices.
  • Maintain compliance documentation and provide guidance on data privacy, security standards, and model integrity.
  • Participate in AI/ML proofs of concept to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
Required Experience and Skills
  • 7+ years of federal cybersecurity experience.
  • Experience securing Dev Ops pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and AI/ML systems.
  • Expertise in encryption, authentication, access control, and secure coding.
  • Knowledge of federal frameworks and compliance requirements (FedRAMP, NIST RMF, OMB guidance).
  • Experience managing POA&Ms and coordinating with IT Security Offices.
  • Previous experience in regulated/federal government environments is a plus.
  • Previous experience supporting HUD OCIO preferred.
  • Ability to pass required Federal background screening and obtain and maintainivid government clearance and customer approval.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship at any time.
Technical Skills
  • Cloud Security: AWS, Azure IAM and best practices cron.
  • Dev Sec Ops : embedding ogni security in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Encryption, authentication, and access control mechanisms.
  • Riskdeithisation, vulnerability management, and security monitoring.
  • AI/ML security considerations, including data privacy and model integrity.
  • Security compliance documentation and reporting.
Core Competencies
  • Analytical and risk assessment expertise.
  • Collaboration with Dev Ops, PMs, and AI/ML teams.
  • Leadership in implementing secure development best practices.
  • Clear communication of technical risks to executive and technical stakeholders.
  • Continuous improvement of security and compliance processes.
Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science minun related field (required).
  • Master’s degree in related field (preferred).
  • Certifications:

    CISSP, CISM, or CCSP (required).
  • AWS Security Specialty or Azure Security Engineer Associate (preferred).
  • FedRAMP / NIST compliance training (preferred).
Physical Requirements
  • Must reside in the United States.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
