Brief OverviewAccountable for providing direct, personal care and services to residents in the skilled nursing facility, which meet the physical, academic, social and spiritual needs on a daily basis to maintain and improve their highest level of independent function.
What you will do- Provides assistance to residents with their activities of daily living
- Performs routine duties and non-routine duties as directed by nursing staff, including assisting with bathing and dressing, shaving, oral hygiene, bed making, transfers, repositioning, toileting, serving and collecting food trays, assisting with feeding, answering call lights, maintaining a clean environment, transporting residents upon admission and dismissal, assisting with ambulation, and orienting/reorienting residents to the facility to ensure safety
- Measures and records vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, weight) and documents information concisely and factually on the appropriate forms
- Assists residents with specific medical care activities per policy to contribute to the plan of care, including restorative exercises and specimen collection as directed by nursing staff; assesses and documents completed cares; provides feedback to nursing staff on status, changes, pain management and other concerns
- Assists with restocking supplies and maintaining a clean and safe unit environment
- Participates in providing emotional, educational and spiritual support for families
- Complies with resident rights, including confidentiality and privacy; reports all allegations of resident abuse or misappropriation of property
- Follows policies and procedures related to fire, tornado, evacuation, disaster plan, universal precautions, infection control, hazardous and chemical communication; maintains a clean and safe environment for residents, families and staff
The individual must be able to work the hours specified. Must perform each essential job function satisfactorily with visual acuity adequate to perform duties and the ability to communicate effectively, hear and distinguish speech and other sounds. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience- Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) – Licensing Board in the state of practice within 120 days
- High School or GED Equivalent
- Less than 1 year related experience or training
