Machine Operator

Reports to:

Manufacturing Supervisor

Schedule:

M-Th 6:00am - 4:30pm, hours may vary at times including overtime

Summary:

Production of damper components by operating CNC laser, press brake, and other fabrication equipment. This role requires a strong focus on safety, precision, and quality, along with reliable documentation and basic operator-level maintenance. Ideal candidates enjoy hands‑on work, problem‑solving, and contributing to a clean and team‑oriented environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties may include the following. Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary to support quality goals and objectives.

  • Set up and operate the CNC laser, press brake, or other equipment to run production and development parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Perform in‑process quality checks to ensure product acceptance for the next stage of the production process.
  • Properly utilize measurement devices (tape measures, calipers, etc.) to verify critical dimensions in both standard and metric units.
  • Use hand and power tools for metal fabrication and assembly tasks.
  • Record production and quality data manually or in the ERP system with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Complete all required documentation and labeling at the conclusion of each job.
  • Operate material‑handling equipment including jib cranes, bridge cranes, and forklifts.
  • Participate in general housekeeping and support Lean Six Sigma practices.
  • Perform operator‑assigned maintenance duties (e.g., filter cleaning, routine checks).
  • Follow all company and regulatory safety policies and use required PPE.
Qualifications
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform all essential job functions.
  • Ability to meet and maintain all productivity, quality, and attendance standards.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of machine‑operating experience.
  • CNC laser and/or press brake experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Previous experience with forklifts and material‑handling equipment.
  • OHSA 10 certification preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving ability, and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced production environment.
