SummaryTo construct life‑saving HVAC equipment using MIG, TIG, and other fabrication and welding processes using blueprints.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Interpret drawings used in metal fabrication to construct HVAC equipment.
- Assemble damper components based on drawing specifications.
- Perform MIG, TIG, and other welding processes on various metal types such as stainless steel, galvanized steel, carbon steel, etc.
- Set up, adjust, and maintain welding equipment and machines, such as power sources, electrodes, torches, gas cylinders, etc. based on standard operating procedures.
- Monitor the welding process and adjust the critical process parameters such as speed, temperature, and voltage as needed to maintain product quality.
- Perform in‑process quality checks to ensure product is acceptable to move onto the next step in the production process.
- Properly utilize measurement devices such as torque wrenches, tape measures, calipers, etc. to verify critical quality dimensions.
- Use hand and power tools for metal fabrication and assembly.
- Record production and quality data manually or in the ERP system.
- Operate material handling equipment such as jib cranes, bridge cranes, and forklifts.
- Maintain and participate in general housekeeping activities as well as the implementation and maintenance of Lean Six Sigma.
- Adhere to all company and regulatory safety policies.
- Ability to safely and successfully perform any/all essential job functions.
- Ability to meet and maintain all qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain reasonably regular and punctual attendance.
- Working knowledge of MIG and TIG welding processes.
- Certification from the American Welding Society (AWS) or equivalent.
- Completion of a welding apprenticeship program or a vocational training course in welding.
- Compliance with all personnel policies and practices.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and prints.
- Must be able to utilize and understand shop measurement tools.
- Previous forklift experience preferred.
