Job DescriptionJob Title: Reading Support
Qualifications: Credentials, as required by the State of Oklahoma.
Reports to: Site Principal and/or Assistant Principal/Assistant Director of Academic Services
Performance Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with district leadership, building administration and reading support team to discuss and coordinate in regards to Strong Readers Law, student needs, district-wide programs, resources and the district SRA Plan.
- Inform/update principals, teachers and staff of changes made to Site SRA Plan and legislation.
- Assist principal in ensuring compliance with the Strong Readers Act requirements.
- Maintain accurate Strong Readers Act, Student Literacy Intervention Plan, and Response to Intervention records.
- Coordinate the communication of student progress through report cards, parent/teacher conferences, and other means of communication.
- Provide targeted reading instruction to students qualifying based on state and district assessments.
- Collaborate with building administrators to provide professional development for teachers.
- Serve as a resource for the teachers and parents.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Abide by all district, federal and state laws, policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Terms of Employment: Number of calendar days and compensation based on approved certified schedule and employee work calendars
Evaluation: Evaluation by site principal and/or assistant principal in accordance with BOE Policy DNA Teacher Evaluation
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, walk and squat frequently.
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds frequently.
- Ability to do outside duties in inclement weather.
- Ability to walk or move long distances from location to location around the building multiple times each day.
