We are currently seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer for our Pickering, ON office. This posting is for an existing vacancy for which we are actively recruiting. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Responsibilities- Work with a team of skilled engineers, designers, procurement and construction
- Perform varied mechanical engineering assignments requiring general familiarity with a broad field of engineering and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines/fields
- Solve problems by using a combination of standard and modified standard procedures, or methods developed in previous assignments
- Participate in planning required to achieve prescribed objectives
- Responsible for supervising large groups of professionals and non-professionals or small groups of specialized engineers, or act as a highly specialized maintenance/technical engineer servicing heavy industrial clients in the Nuclear Sector
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is preferred
- Registered or eligible to register with the PEO as a P.Eng
- 8+ years of working experience in design, process, maintenance engineering and engineering management within the Nuclear, Power, or Industrial Facilities is considered an asset
- Previous Nuclear Mechanical Maintenance and/or Consulting Engineering experience is considered an asset
- Experience in communicating with other design disciplines and an appreciation for the impact of their designs on other disciplines is an asset
- Strong computer‑oriented skills (familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Office, Numerical Methods Solutions)
- Working experience in principles and practices of nuclear engineering as applied to design and construction of projects is preferred
- Coaching, professional service management, communication and interpersonal skills are essential
- Experience in using the MS Office suite including Word, Excel, Power Point
- Effective communication, organization and presentation skills
- Must be able to receive Security Clearance
A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years old and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)
