The Pickering Nuclear Generating Station Refurbishment Program involves designing and building a new deep‑water intake in Lake Ontario to improve the plant’s cooling system. The project includes:

• 1.5 km-long tunnel built by a pressurized TBM (10.15 m diameter slurry TBM)
• Two vertical shafts (onshore and offshore)
• An offshore modular intake structure resting on the lake bed

This project is distinguished by its proximity to an active nuclear site, requiring rigorous standards of safety, planning and coordination.

• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements
• Draw site installations with logistics and lift operations
• Prepare drawings for utilities, traffic, dewatering, and temporary works with formwork
• Ensure drawings are accurate and correspond to project requirements
• Revise drawings based on feedback and scope changes
• Use CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit) to produce high-quality plans
• Produce civil works, TBM and SEM tunnelling sequences and interfaces
• Prepare drawings/inputs for civil works including casting sequences and reinforcement design basis
• Prepare excavation sequences with secant piles, soldier piles, tension piles, rock anchors, struts and walers
• Provide support for permit requests

• Diploma or degree in Drafting, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field
• 2‑3 years of experience on a construction site
• Strong experience with AutoCAD and Revit
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
