Job SummaryThe primary responsibility of the Senior Accountant includes various corporate accounting activities for the company. This includes month end close and consolidation, internal and external financial reporting, business process controls, maintaining and controlling the general ledger in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), which includes analytical work and reviewing financial records. The Senior Accountant plays a key role in the annual financial statement audit, preparing monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, managing miscellaneous sales/use and property tax filings, calculating accruals, and addressing other ad hoc requests.
Additionally, the Senior Accountant will support acquisitions and integration planning and implementation to drive annual growth.
- Conduct daily and monthly reconciliation of cash and GL accounts.
- Assist the Accounting Manager in implementing comprehensive corporate and subsidiary processes for a timely and accurate monthly close.
- Assist in the establishment of reconciliation processes, account reconciliations, balance sheet flux analysis, monthly banking reporting and covenant testing.
- Conduct analysis and research of complex accounting issues including core balance sheet analysis, reserve analysis, and accrual preparation.
- Collaborate with Accounting Manager to ensure external audit compliance, coordinate PBC schedules and follow up on necessary actions.
- Support the Controller in establishing internal controls and policies, including documentation.
- Engage with cross functional teams to improve business processes.
- Support treasury, tax compliance, and strategic initiatives when needed.
- Handle light cost accounting including variance analysis and capitalization, inventory, and commercial accruals like commissions, rebates, and warranties.
- Conduct ad hoc tasks such as property tax filings, government reporting, etc.
- Participate in special projects focused on best practices and efficiency improvements.
- Perform all responsibilities of a Staff Accountant and address any escalated issues.

- Supervisory Responsibilities:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3 – 5 years of experience in accounting with a combination of public accounting and corporate experience
- Experience establishing scalable, repeatable, and efficient accounting processes
- Intermediate proficiency in technical accounting for US GAAP, consolidations, financial statement preparation, and cash flows
- Advanced experience utilizing computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and ERP/Financial accounting system
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Ability to work under deadlines with accuracy
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Results oriented with a sense of urgency, autonomy, and accountability for work
- Proficient in adapting to shifting priorities, organizational change, and eager to think through new circumstances and requirements to develop plans of action
- Experience working in a fast‑paced and high‑volume work environment
- Proactive “self‑starter” with a strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with all employee levels
- Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Experience working in a private equity‑backed environment
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certification
- Experience with JD Edwards
