Full-time, Permanent Reed Finance are partnering with a long-established, family-run SME with a strong reputation built on trust, quality, and long-term relationships. As the business continues to grow, it is seeking to appoint an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of the finance function and act as a trusted advisor to the senior leadership team. This is a hands-on, office-based role offering genuine influence over the financial health and future direction of the business, within a close-knit and supportive working environment.
The Role Reporting directly to senior leadership, the Finance Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the company’s finances, while also contributing to strategic and commercial decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:
Overseeing daily financial operations, including reporting, cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting Producing accurate and timely monthly management accounts and financial statements Ensuring full compliance with statutory requirements, including VAT, Corporation Tax, PAYE, and Companies House filings Leading the year-end process and acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors and advisors Supporting strategic decision-making through detailed financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting Maintaining strong internal controls and driving continuous improvement across financial systems and processes Providing clear financial reporting and presentations to the senior leadership team Overseeing payroll activities, whether managed in-house or via external providers Identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial risks within the business Leading finance-led projects, including system upgrades and process improvements Contributing to commercial decisions through financial modelling, scenario analysis, and business case development Skills & Experience To be successful in this role, the individual will bring strong technical expertise alongside a commercial and pragmatic mindset.
The ideal candidate will have:
