Water Treatment Mechanic Relief OperatorUnder immediate supervision of the Water Treatment Plant Superintendent, maintain proper functioning of water treatment plant. Operate and perform routine maintenance on all plant equipment (4.5
MGD water treatment plant).
- Ensure preventative maintenance is performed as required
- Conduct periodic inspection of all plant machinery/equipment
- Perform daily inspection of pumping stations, maintain equipment located at site
- Maintain and repair meters, pumps, floats, valves, mixers, variable frequency drivers (VFDs), control panels, sludge pumps, air conditioners, SCADA equipment, and lab equipment
- Maintain/repair all stand‑by generators
- Maintain/repair chemical feed equipment
- Operate plant equipment such as trucks, motor boat, forklift, and overhead crane
- Maintain and repair water intake areas
- Conduct necessary tests (ie pH, chlorine, residual, turbidity, fluoride)
- Analyze and record test results, make necessary changes to chemical flows
- Make periodic rounds of plant during shift, determine if equipment is properly operating
- Maintain required licenses and certifications
- Perform other duties as assigned
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent;
Two years' experience in the maintenance and repair of water treatment machinery/equipment or equivalent;
Working knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and standard practices utilized in the repair and maintenance of water plant equipment/machinery;
Knowledge of water treatment principles, processes, and plant operation;
Ability to meet approved physical standards.
Possession of a valid PA Driver's License; PA DEP Water Class A Subclass 1,7,8,12 License;
Confined Space Training.
