Position Summary
Working under the direction of the supervisor of special education and principal, the Behavior Analyst or RBT develops behavior management programs for students with classroom staff and the program supervisor that meet the needs of students from various backgrounds, including students who have experienced school failure, students identified as in need of special education and students with severe behavioral and emotional challenges.
The behavior analyst/RBT also assist teachers and educational professionals on the proper implementation of behavior plans.

The behavior analyst/RBT also assist teachers and educational professionals on the proper implementation of behavior plans.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide consultation to teachers, program supervisors, and building administration in observing students presenting management problems and in taking baseline data on their behavior.
- Provide consultation to teachers program supervisors, and building administration in selecting and developing appropriate data collection techniques.
- Develop written descriptions of behavior programs for specific students.
- Provide consultation to teachers, program supervisors, and building administration in developing behavior management programs for both specific students and the classroom milieu.
- Assist teachers in making IEP revisions when they are necessary in order to implement a behavior modification program.
- Attend IEP meetings as a member of the IEP Team to discuss behavior modification programs.
- Instruct staff members in the use of passive restraint techniques and assist teachers in applying these techniques when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor of Special Education and Building Administrator
Qualifications
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or RBT certification required.
- Experience working in a K-12 setting
- Ability to work as a member of a team. Must be courteous and able to deal effectively with people, cooperative, congenial, and self-oriented.
- Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions, ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision, ability to read, write, and do simple computation.
- Ability to operate office equipment, use computer technology efficiently, be a proficient typist, and know how to format business correspondence/reports.
- Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI.
