Mid-Level Environmental Specialist
OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Environmental Specialist to join our team. This role requires a deep understanding of environmental regulations and the ability to manage projects from inception to completion. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in environmental compliance, lead diverse projects, and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Responsibilities- Demonstrate deep expertise in environmental regulations, permitting pathways, and compliance requirements.
- Lead projects from planning through execution, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and resource coordination.
- Manage a diverse portfolio of environmental assignments such as wetland delineations, permitting efforts, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Phase I & II ESAs, site remediation activities, and sustainability-focused initiatives.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Maintain full compliance with applicable local, state, and federal environmental laws and frameworks, including EPA, NEPA, CEQA, RCRA, and CERCLA.
- Produce high-quality figures, maps, and site plans using CADD software.
- Conduct environmental fieldwork, including supervising subcontractors and ensuring proper field protocols.
- Direct and review sampling programs and data collection for air, water, and soil quality assessments.
- Prepare clear, technically sound reports, permit applications, and regulatory submittals.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff, supporting their technical and professional development.
- Monitor evolving environmental policies, regulatory updates, and industry best practices to keep project approaches current.
- Contribute to business development by identifying new opportunities, preparing proposals, and supporting competitive bids.

- 7+ years of relevant environmental experience, preferably in consulting, energy, or industrial sectors
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License
Skills & Qualifications
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification preferred
- Professional certification (e.g., PE, PG, CHMM, QEP) is preferred
- Experience with EPA, NEPA, CEQA, RCRA
- Soil sampling
- Groundwater
The work environment is dynamic and collaborative, requiring the ability to work effectively with diverse teams. Employees are expected to follow all safety protocols and industry standards. The role may involve fieldwork and supervision of subcontractors, necessitating adherence to field protocols and proper use of safety equipment. Business development activities may also require occasional travel.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenixville, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.65 - $43.27/hr.
