** We Require
*** Three years of experience operating trucks and heavy equipment
* High school diploma or GED
* Must possess a valid Arizona Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a tanker endorsement
* State and federal regulations require Maricopa County to conduct a pre-employment safety history investigation for all positions that require an applicant to possess a commercial driver’s license (CDL). Maricopa County is also required to conduct a pre-employment safety history investigation for positions that directly impact commercial motor vehicle safety, but may not specifically require a valid CDL

** Job Contributions
*** Operate a variety of medium to large-sized construction and maintenance equipment/vehicles, including a motor grader, excavator, front-end loader, dump truck, and water truck, in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures
* Plan and prioritize work tasks; read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications
* Perform heavy manual labor assignments as needed and assist work crews as required
* Complete required daily logs and prepare reports; attend safety meetings and other required meetings and mandatory training
* Haul materials and transport vehicles and equipment to job sites using various trucks
* Other job duties as assigned
** Working Conditions
*** Exerting 50 - 100 pounds occasionally, 10 - 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 - 20 pounds constantly
* Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
* Incumbent may be subjected to extreme temperatures, wetness/humidity, respiratory hazards, and noise and vibration
* Incumbent may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel
** Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software, and Hardware
** Heavy-duty vehicles, trailers, and equipment;
Cartegraph;
Fleet management software; hand and power tools; transport trailers, chains, and detachable towing units.
** Protective Equipment Required
** All OSHA and MCDOT-required PPE, including but not limited to hard hats, safety vests, safety boots, safety glasses, and gloves.
