Position OverviewAs an Class A CDL Lead & Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting and delivering shipments to our clients' locations while also handling the loading and unloading of goods. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and timely completion of moving projects, while adhering to all company policies and safety regulations. Over the road drivers would drive 4 weeks on the road with 1 week off, sometimes more.
The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills and knowledge of truck fueling and maintenance.
- Operate commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, in compliance with all federal and state regulations governing transportation.
- Load and unload shipments onto and off of trucks, ensuring proper handling and secure placement to prevent damage during transit.
- Transport goods between locations in a timely and efficient manner, following planned routes and schedules.
- Attend training sessions to learn company procedures, safety protocols, and best practices for moving operations.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, including paperwork and billing processes, and ensure all documentation is completed correctly.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate logistics and provide updates on delivery status.
- Demonstrate self-motivation and initiative in completing tasks and resolving challenges independently.
- Adhere to company policies regarding punctuality, attendance, and professional conduct at all times.
- Regularly lift heavy objects weighing 50 pounds or more, and perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading shipments.
- Ability to understand shipment paperwork, billing processes, and other documentation related to moving operations.
- Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy objects repeatedly throughout the workday.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Willingness to undergo training and travel for work assignments as needed.
- Ability to comply with ongoing testing requirements as mandated by company policy.
- Must have:
At least one year of household goods moving experience - High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
- Able to pass a Physical, Drug Screen & Background Check.
- Prior experience in moving, driving, or logistics preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Valid CDL Class A driver’s license
- 2 years or more of US driving experience
- Clean driving record for 2 years or more
- Must be at least 21 years old
Salary HHG Hauling: $.60 per mile
$25 per hour when loading and unloading
Salary Freight hauling: $.50 per mile all drive miles. Retention pay paid at hourly rate.
Sitting Day:
Paid at $200 a day when waiting for a load. Reset days are unpaid unless driving miles can be applied.
