FMS; Flight Management Systems Software Developer

Talascend is currently seeking a hybrid FMS (Flight Management Systems) Software Developer for a W-2 contract opportunity with our client in Phoenix, Arizona.

In this role, you will work in a fast-paced and exciting development environment with a team of experienced software and systems engineers to satisfy technical requirements, support functional load deliveries and ensure compliance with certification requirements.

• Designing and developing high-quality core software architecture and applications.
• Integrating flight management software for new product development.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications.
• Implement software solutions that meet performance, security, and scalability requirements.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Testing and integration on test benches in labs.
• Staying up to date with industry trends and best practices in software development.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
• 8-15 years of experience in software development of Flight Management Systems.
• Strong C++ or object-oriented programming skills.
• Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum.
• Strong software architecture and design development skills.
• Strong analytical and software development skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Passion for continuous learning and professional development.

• Advanced degrees in Computer Science or related fields.
• Experience in developing software for embedded systems.
• Multi-core / multi-thread development experience.
• Strong understanding of OOAD approach and concepts.
• Software development lifecycle experience per DO-178C.
• Experience with Software Verification and Validation using C++.
